According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian offensive involved a mix of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and explosive drones. Over 426 aerial attack assets were identified, including seven Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles launched from aircraft over the Caspian Sea.

Additionally, approximately 392 Shahed-type drones were deployed from various locations including Bryansk and Kursk in Russia, with around 250 of these being identified as Shahed drones. The air defense successfully intercepted a total of 390 of these threats, including 25 missiles and 365 drones.

Specific successes included the downing of 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles and five Iskander-K cruise missiles. There were also reports of impacts from six missiles and 27 drones across 22 locations in Ukraine, with drone debris falling in 10 locations, indicating some accounted for threats did manage to penetrate the defensive measures.

Details still pending clarification involve three unidentified enemy missiles, with ongoing assessments of the strike's impact and effectiveness. The Commander of the Air Forces urged continued vigilance as hostile drones were still active in the airspace at 09:00 local time on that date.

The Ukrainian military highlighted the need for citizens to follow safety regulations in light of continued airborne threats, as attacks like this exemplify the persistent danger posed by Russia's military capabilities. While the air defense's performance in intercepting a significant majority of incoming threats is commendable, the confirmed impacts suggest that infrastructure may have still suffered damage.

This recent assault is part of an ongoing pattern of larger coordinated attacks targeting Ukraine's critical infrastructure, which has escalated throughout the course of the conflict. Each engagement serves as both a tactical maneuver by Russian forces and a test of Ukraine's growing air defense systems, developed with international support.
