On March 7, 2026, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that UAH 1.5 billion would be directed toward improving housing conditions for internally displaced persons (IDPs). This funding will support renovations and the procurement of homes for those who have had to leave their residences due to the conflict in Ukraine. Svyrydenko indicated in a Telegram post that UAH 1 billion is earmarked for renovating and equipping temporary accommodation facilities. Importantly, she stated that 20% of these renovated spaces must be accessible to persons with disabilities and those with mobility impairments. Additionally, UAH 500 million is allocated for purchasing homes in rural areas, with a clear mechanism for this process to be established within a month of the resolution's enactment. The funding will also facilitate the purchase of construction materials and modular homes, helping to create modular villages in frontline regions to address the urgent housing needs of IDPs. For frontline areas, the government will provide a 100% subsidy, while other regions will benefit from a co-financing model covering 90% through state funds and 10% from local budgets. This initiative reflects the government's ongoing commitment to improve living conditions for those affected by the conflict and to support their resettlement.
