During a search of the agent's property, officials seized a smartphone containing evidence of his collaboration with the FSB. Following these findings, investigators notified him of the charges under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to treason during a state of war.

The agent is currently in custody and faces the possibility of life imprisonment along with confiscation of assets. Earlier reports indicated that SBU and National Police agents had previously detained five Russian operatives involved in arson in the Cherkasy region.
