In a recent update, spokesperson Vladislav Voloshin confirmed that Russian military units are attempting to rotate their personnel stationed at observation posts on Velykyi Vilkhovyi, Bilohrudyi, and Nestryha islands in the Kherson region. The strategic significance of these islands is underscored by their location in the Dnipro estuary, which provides critical access routes for military operations.

The rotation implies an ongoing effort by Russian forces to maintain surveillance and operational readiness in the area. Voloshin indicated that Russian troops are not only rotating personnel but are also trying to relocate their vessels in the Zaliznyi Port area.
However, these efforts have been met with significant resistance from the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Over the past day, Ukrainian forces succeeded in destroying two Russian boats, a continuation of their active maritime engagement in the region.
The spokesperson commented, "We have been regularly targeting Russian vessels in this area, destroying them almost daily." This persistent targeting suggests a concerted Ukrainian strategy to disrupt Russian supply lines and naval operations in the vicinity of the islands. Such actions are critical in undermining the logistics that support Russian troop movements and deployments.
Furthermore, reports indicate that Russian invaders have not conducted any assault operations in the Dnipro region in the last day, possibly indicating a momentary shift in strategy as they regroup. The stability in the Dnipro region contrasts with the ongoing maritime activity and troop rotations in southern Ukraine, reflecting a broader tactical landscape that both sides are navigating.
As tensions continue in the Kherson area, these developments highlight the ongoing confrontation between Ukrainian and Russian forces. The situation remains fluid, with potential implications for future military engagements in southern Ukraine, especially along the Dnipro River as both sides seek to bolster their positions.
