On the morning of March 24, Ukraine's national energy company, Ukrenergo, reported significant power outages affecting consumers in Odesa, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions. This disruption follows an overnight assault characterized by missile and drone strikes targeting the country's energy infrastructure.

In the face of these attacks, emergency repair teams are mobilizing where safety allows to restore power to affected areas. The strikes are part of a broader offensive by Russian forces, which included artillery strikes along the front lines.

As the country prepares for continued challenges to its energy grid, Ukrenergo has indicated that power consumption levels aligned with those of the previous day, suggesting that the infrastructure is strained but managing under pressure. Ukrenergo has advised that due to the ongoing impact from these systematic assaults, power restriction schedules will be imposed for industries in most regions throughout the day.

From 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, there will also be hourly outages affecting all consumer categories, highlighting the precarious state of Ukraine's energy supply as it grapples with the aftermath of these attacks. The company urged residents to conserve electricity and suggested that high energy consumption should be planned around the optimal operating hours of solar power plants, specifically from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Residents are also cautioned against using multiple high-power devices simultaneously during the evening hours to help manage the limited energy supply. This assault follows a series of coordinated strikes earlier, whereby Ukrainian air defense reportedly intercepted 390 incoming targets, which included 25 missiles and 365 drones of various types.

As of 9:00 AM on March 24, the aftermath saw damage from downed drones and missiles at 22 locations, along with debris reported at ten sites, underscoring the challenges posed by the conflict to vital infrastructure across the nation. With the risk of further attacks looming, Ukraine remains focused on securing its energy systems while navigating the realities of war.

Sustaining the energy infrastructure is critical not only for daily life but also for the overall resilience of the nation's response to the ongoing aggression.
