During the early hours of March 14, 2026, the Kyiv region was subjected to a significant assault involving drones and missiles launched by Russian forces. Mykola Kalashnik, the head of the Kyiv regional administration, reported that the attacks targeted civilian areas, leading to three confirmed deaths and five individuals suffering injuries.

The assaults particularly affected the Brovary and Vyshhorod districts. In the Brovary district, two people lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries.
The strikes caused damage to a student dormitory, production facilities, and warehouse buildings. Meanwhile, one individual was injured in the Vyshhorod district.
The ongoing strikes have also led to considerable infrastructure damage, including the destruction of a multi-story residential building and fires in various structures. In the Obukhiv district, damage occurred to technical premises of an apartment building, where vehicles parked nearby caught fire.
Fires erupted in private homes in the Bucha district, while warehouse sites in Vyshhorod were ablaze due to the attacks. Emergency services are currently engaged in response efforts across the affected areas, as rescuers, medical personnel, and police work to mitigate the consequences of the strikes and assist those impacted.
Kalashnik urged residents to remain in safe locations as the assault continued, prioritizing their safety and that of their families. He later confirmed the number of fatalities had risen to three after another victim was reported in the Vyshhorod district.
Emergency services are on-site to address the immediate needs and assess damage across four districts of the Kyiv region. Kalashnik expressed his condolences to the victims' families and indicated that further information would be provided as it becomes available.
