During a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten in Kyiv, President Zelensky underscored the importance of not only addressing security challenges in the Middle East but also enhancing defenses across Europe. Noting Ukraine's contributions to stabilizing the Middle East, he mentioned that countries in the region and the United States have turned to Ukraine for military support, particularly in countering threats from Iranian drones and missiles.

Zelensky stated, 'We will provide them with the necessary means, foremost expertise and the experience of our military.' The President called for European countries to take similar initiatives in bolstering collective security on the continent. Zelensky acknowledged the presence of various air defense systems in the Middle East, including Patriot systems, but highlighted that recent attacks have demonstrated these measures are insufficient.
He reinforced Ukraine’s position, emphasizing that 'it has the largest experience' in addressing such threats and possesses the necessary capabilities to share this knowledge with European partners. This insistence on enhanced defense cooperation stems from the recognition that both regions face substantial security risks requiring collective action.
Amid these discussions, Zelensky expressed support for recent military strikes on Iranian targets, citing Iran's provision of weapons to Russia as a significant threat. However, he warned that operations in the Middle East could impact Ukraine's own access to missiles and air defense systems.
In light of this, he reasserted Ukraine's readiness to assist its partners, both in Europe and the Middle East, in stabilizing the situation and safeguarding civilian populations amidst escalating threats. The President's comments reflect a growing acknowledgment of Ukraine's expertise in military matters on the global stage, potentially reshaping its role in international defense strategies.
