Ukrainian Startups Receive EUR 12M from Seeds of Bravery Initiative

Ukrainian startups have collectively received EUR 12 million under the Seeds of Bravery initiative. The funding program has been active for over two years, aiming to support technology companies during the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The Seeds of Bravery initiative was launched on December 20, 2023, with a focus on bolstering the deep tech industry in Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, 318 Ukrainian startups benefited from the funding as the project nears its completion.

The initiative has facilitated various forms of support including financial assistance and connections to European partners. During its duration, Ukrainian innovators participated in 34 international conferences, which helped them gain exposure and build relationships in new markets.

The project enabled over 600 meetings with potential clients, engaging 2,430 European investors and corporations. Furthermore, the initiative successfully facilitated the completion of entrepreneurial programs for 236 researchers, with approximately one-fifth of participants going on to launch their tech projects.

The Seeds of Bravery program also included a specific focus on women entrepreneurs, with 100 women strengthening their leadership skills through the FEL program. This initiative has been implemented by a consortium of partners from Ukraine and the EU, including FundingBox, the Ukrainian Startup Fund, CyberInnovate, INNOV8, EIT Health, and Plug and Play, among others.
