According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported on March 12, the fighting reflects ongoing hostilities as Russian forces conducted 103 airstrikes while dropping 322 guided bombs throughout the day. The situation remains particularly volatile in the mentioned regions, highlighted by consistent military engagement between Ukrainian defenders and occupying forces.

Alongside airstrikes, the Russian military launched 9,216 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,956 shelling incidents, complicating the operational environment for Ukrainian troops. Attacks focused on areas in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, including Velikomykhailivka, Kolomiytsi, and Gulyaypole.
Ukrainian forces have reportedly successfully engaged enemy troops in multiple instances, damaging key Russian assets including three troop concentration areas, seven artillery systems, and establishment points for drone management. On the northeastern front, defense forces repelled a significant assault while also addressing incursions on the southern sector where Russian troops attempted to breach at Prilipka.
Numerous attacks ensued around Kupiansk, Liman, and Slavyansk directions, evidencing a determined effort from Russia to gain footholds in these contested areas. Notably, in Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian forces countered 22 attacks across several locations, maintaining defensive positions against sustained enemy pressure.
In the Gulyaypole area, there were 21 recorded attacks on civilian and military infrastructure, characterized by persistent artillery fire impacting local populations. The military actions indicate an escalated strategy from Russian forces attempting to stretch Ukrainian defenses across multiple hotspots.
The ongoing conflict dynamics have shown no signs of abating, with Ukrainian military leadership acknowledging the mounting confrontations and adaptative strategies in response to Russian maneuvers. The overall losses reported by the Ukrainian side since February 24, 2022, have highlighted the extensive toll of continued hostilities between the two nations.
Yet, defensive efforts remain resilient, with commanders focusing on repelling advances and safeguarding territorial integrity amidst intensive warfare.
