The visit is significant as it coincides with Sybiha's participation in the inauguration of Chile's newly elected president in Santiago on March 10-11. This event marks a revival of high-level diplomatic engagement between Ukraine and South America after a 13-year absence.

During his time in Chile, Sybiha will also meet with the new Chilean president and members of the government to enhance bilateral cooperation. A key part of Sybiha's itinerary includes discussions aimed at strengthening Ukraine's partnerships with Latin American nations.
The focus will be on promoting mutual trade and investment opportunities while advocating for collaborative efforts in maintaining international peace and security. Sybiha is also expected to engage with various delegations from across the region, who will be attending the inauguration.
Following the visit to Chile, Sybiha will proceed to Panama on March 12-13. There, he plans to engage in talks with Panama's foreign minister and sign bilateral agreements that could lay the groundwork for new joint projects.
This visit also includes the inauguration of Ukraine's embassy in Panama, which signifies Ukraine's commitment to increasing its diplomatic presence in Central America. Before arriving in Latin America, Sybiha will stop in Poland on March 9 for meetings with his Polish counterpart and discussions with political experts.
This prelude highlights the importance of Poland as a strategic ally for Ukraine amidst its diplomatic expansion efforts. Notably, Sybiha has previously discussed initiatives in drone technologies and climate research with the Association of Caribbean States, reflecting a growing interest in diversifying Ukraine's international relationships.
Enhancing diplomacy in Latin America is part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to cultivate new partnerships that can support its global standing and economic interests.
