Ukraine to Seek Honorary Consuls in Szczecin and Olsztyn, Poland

Current assessments indicate that mobile services account for 25-30% of all consular activities. Such services are particularly popular among Ukrainians residing in Poland, as they provide direct access to consulate staff.

The move to enhance consular presence in Szczecin and Olsztyn comes after the passing of Henryk Kołodziej, the long-serving honorary consul in Szczecin. The region has not had an honorary consul for Ukraine in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

Krysa noted the importance of these roles for further supporting the Ukrainian community in Poland. In alignment with this, the consulate also plans to expand the number of Ukrainian book collections available in the area.

Krysa emphasized that Ukrainian literature should be accessible not only in educational institutions but also in hospitals and rehabilitation centers. Through collaboration with the Ukrainian Book Institute, the consulate received 600 books from Ukrainian publishers, including a selection for children.

These books are being distributed to Ukrainian schools and medical facilities within the region. Krysa highlighted the necessity for ongoing outreach and support for Ukrainians in Poland.
