Ukraine to Present Stamp at Boston Exhibition for US Independence

At an event designed to highlight the relationship between the two nations, Olena Zelenska announced the stamp unveiling during her visit to the National Postal Museum in Washington, D.C. The new stamp is intended not only to celebrate a significant milestone in American history but also to serve as a symbol of solidarity as Ukraine continues to confront challenges related to Russian aggression.

The announcement comes as a part of ongoing cultural exchanges between the United States and Ukraine. Zelenska expressed gratitude to the National Postal Museum for the opportunity to organize this exhibition of Ukrainian stamps.

She remarked that Ukrainian stamps have transformed into a chronicle of the nation’s struggle against external threats. The stamp, which will be showcased in Boston, will also be available for cancellation in both Kyiv and Boston, before becoming part of the Smithsonian Museums' collection.

This collaboration underscores the growing cultural ties and mutual support between the two nations amidst difficult times. While detailing the visit, Zelenska noted that the Smithsonian Institution has consistently expressed support for Ukraine's fight for freedom and democracy.

Their cooperation includes educational projects, such as a STEM initiative, which has reached nearly 5,000 students in Ukraine. Such projects aim to bolster the educational framework within the country, aligning with broader efforts to support the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in education.

Olena Zelenska’s commitment to further collaborations with the Smithsonian was evident as she announced a project to produce a Ukrainian-language video about the Smithsonian Institution, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of US independence. Additionally, the introduction of Ukrainian audio-visual tours in Smithsonian museums aims to foster greater cultural understanding across nations.
