The Ukrainian government has formally submitted a document to the European Union that includes the personal data of nearly 130 Russian military commanders implicated in various crimes against Ukrainian civilians. This significant step aims to prevent these individuals from entering EU countries, reinforcing Ukraine's commitment to hold accountable those responsible for the ongoing conflict and violence.

President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of collective action with the EU, stating, "We must work to ensure that everyone who takes part in the war against Ukraine has no right to enter the countries of the European Union." The comprehensive document contains critical information, including dates of birth and identification numbers for the targeted individuals, which reportedly spans across multiple branches of the Russian military, including long-range aviation and naval forces. Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukrainian forces have documented extensive missile strikes against civilian targets, amounting to over 4,100 cruise missiles launched at various cities and communities.

The sanctioned commanders are linked to numerous attacks, including verified participation from specific aviation regiments known to engage in systematic missile strikes. Reports indicate that as many as 300 relatives of the sanctioned individuals have been identified, illustrating the scale of the military’s involvement in the aggression against Ukraine.

Alongside this recent development, Ukraine's Advisor for Sanctions Policy, Vladyslav Vlasiuk, reiterated the need for stringent EU sanctions against all participants in the conflict, asserting that there must be a just punishment for their actions against Ukraine and its citizens. This measure adds to Ukraine's previous sanctions on more than 300 individuals tied to military operations, human rights violations, and cyberattacks aimed at critical infrastructure.

Ukraine's legal apparatus has been busy accumulating evidence of war crimes, with centralized repositories now containing over 44 terabytes of data regarding these acts. The ongoing efforts reflect a robust strategy to ensure accountability and justice for the affected communities across Ukraine, aiming to fortify international support against Russian aggression.
