Ukraine Receives Six Requests for Assistance from Middle East

During a media briefing alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, Zelensky noted that Ukrainian military experts and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, are currently assessing the specific needs and expectations from partner countries in the region. 'At the end of the week, the military and the Secretary will return from the Gulf region, and we will have a complete report on the assistance being requested,' Zelensky said.

He also indicated that there has been a separate request from the United States concerning assistance for Jordan. Zelensky elaborated that while countries in the Middle East, the US, and the EU possess a number of interceptor drones, Ukrainian pilots and specialized software are essential for effective operation.

'This system is only available with us and is officially part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Therefore, everyone understands that, even having dozens or hundreds of interceptors, they cannot stabilize the situation without our expertise in air defense,' he stated.

The President further explained that the deployment of experts in systematic defense — professionals in using small-scale air defense systems — is critical. This specialized team recently traveled to the Middle East to provide technical support and guidance amid the heightened tensions caused by Iranian strikes.

The strategic discussions and potential agreements stemming from this visit are expected to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities and foster international collaborations. As the geopolitical landscape evolves, the requests from Middle Eastern nations reflect a broader concern regarding regional security and the influence of Iran.
