President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Ukraine's readiness to participate in peace talks aimed at ending the ongoing war in Ukraine, but noted that a suitable location for the negotiations remains contentious. According to Zelensky, negotiations were originally set to take place next Wednesday or Thursday, but the American side requested to postpone due to current geopolitical tensions, particularly related to the conflict in the Middle East.

The President described the situation as 'a whole Santa Barbara' when addressing the complexities behind the scheduling of these discussions. The United States has expressed willingness to hold the talks, but insists that they must occur on American soil.
Zelensky mentioned that Ukraine has offered to send its delegation to either Miami or Washington. However, Russia has rejected this proposition, suggesting alternative venues such as Turkey or Switzerland, which the Americans have also turned down.
Zelensky affirmed Ukraine's willingness to negotiate anywhere that is deemed safe, including potential meetings in the Emirates. Despite the ongoing conflict, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine stands ready to resume diplomatic efforts as soon as the U.S.
is prepared to participate. He reiterated that the current global focus on the situation involving Iran should not deter the advancement of discussions aimed at ending the European conflict.
The President indicated his hope that a mutually agreeable location could be found promptly to facilitate discussions that may lead to a resolution of hostilities. As the discussions aim to find common ground, Ukraine remains poised for engagement, with existing alliances serving as a framework for potential outcomes.
The dynamics of the negotiation process face significant pressure as both Russian and American interests must be reconciled to achieve diplomatic progress. Zelensky’s comments indicate a commitment to peace despite the obstacles presented by external geopolitical factors.
