According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, recipients of pensions and insurance payments who reside in temporarily occupied territories must complete this verification to secure their financial benefits. The fund's press service announced that individuals who have relocated to areas controlled by Ukraine during the ongoing occupation must report if they have received pensions or insurance payments from Russian authorities.

Failure to comply with these requirements could jeopardize their monthly assistance. The notification states that recipients who underwent physical identification between January 1, 2025, and February 1, 2026, will see their payments continued until they report their status—provided they do so by April 1, 2026.
Should there be any changes in the recipient's circumstance regarding their payment status from Russia, this information must be reported as well. To facilitate this reporting, the Pension Fund has introduced multiple options.
Recipients may submit their status online through the fund's e-services portal, during video calls with fund representatives, via postal mail, or directly at a local service center. This multi-channel approach aims to ensure that beneficiaries can easily keep their records current and maintain their entitlements.
As of February 1, 2026, approximately 269,000 pensioners had not completed the necessary physical identification. Additionally, nearly 70,000 individuals had verified their identity but failed to report receiving any payments from Russian authorities, complicating their eligibility for funds from the Ukrainian pension system.
The emphasis on these requirements reflects ongoing concerns regarding pension distribution in light of the conflict and changing territorial controls. The importance of this identity verification process cannot be overstated, especially for those affected by the conflict and living under challenging conditions.
As the situation evolves, maintaining accurate information on pension recipients is crucial for the fund's ability to disburse benefits effectively.
