Svyrydenko emphasized the importance of a permanent International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) monitoring mission at Zaporizhzhia to ensure safety amid ongoing conflict. Furthermore, she highlighted renovations at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which had suffered damage during the war, inviting IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi to Kyiv for a significant conference marking the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.

The Prime Minister expressed pride in how Ukraine has navigated the winter amidst ongoing conflict, managing to sustain energy needs through effective use of its nuclear power capabilities. "Ukraine has gained unique experience in managing nuclear power plants in wartime," Svyrydenko stated, asserting that this experience will be invaluable in reinforcing Europe's energy stability.

She pointed out that protecting these vital nuclear facilities is crucial for the energy security of the entire European continent. Svyrydenko also took the opportunity at the summit to engage with various leaders on supporting Ukraine's energy sector.

Discussions included decentralizing energy generation and securing additional resources for strategic restructuring. She acknowledged the financial aid received from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which has played a crucial role in helping Ukraine cope with the energy challenges posed by the ongoing war.

Conversations also revolved around the energy supply landscape in light of rising prices attributed to geopolitical tensions, particularly the situation in the Middle East. Furthermore, she addressed upcoming changes in the management of key energy companies, noting the ongoing processes in Energoatom and Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Svyrydenko concluded her remarks by appreciating the support from Ukraine's partners and their commitment to enhancing the country’s energy security and independence during these challenging times.
