Ukraine Faces Surge in Drone and Missile Attacks from Russia

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the recent aerial campaign involved extensive use of strike drones and guided bombs, affecting areas already strained by ongoing conflict. The attacks have continued to threaten civilians, with strikes reported on residential buildings and critical energy infrastructure, raising concerns about safety and stability.

Zelensky emphasized the urgency of enhancing Ukraine's air defense capabilities. He urged for increased contributions and deliveries under the PURL initiative, which aims to secure additional air defense missiles.

Ukraine's air defense forces have reportedly managed to neutralize a significant number of these threats, destroying 98 out of 117 drones engaged in recent attacks. The president reiterated the necessity for sustained international support, thanking allies for their ongoing assistance while calling for intensified sanctions against Russia and its allies.

He pointed specifically to the financial support that sustains Russia's military efforts, indicating that measures to cut off such funding are crucial. Alongside addressing the immediate military risks, Zelensky indicated that negotiations with European partners would occur to further discuss collaborative security measures.
