According to information released by the National Energy Company of Ukraine (Ukrenergo), the overnight assault involved both missile and drone strikes targeting energy facilities in Kyiv and surrounding areas. Reports indicate that energy objects in various regions, including Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk, have also suffered damage due to the attacks.

As a result, many consumers in these regions are left without electricity this morning, prompting emergency power restrictions. Ukrenergo has indicated that the scale and timing of these outages reflect the serious damage inflicted on the energy system.
Emergency restoration efforts are underway where safety conditions allow, but the operator has urgently advised consumers to conserve energy. Specific guidelines have been issued, suggesting the use of heavy electrical appliances primarily between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM when solar power generation is at its peak, mitigating some of the demand on the grid.
Furthermore, residents are urged to exercise caution by limiting simultaneous use of high-capacity appliances, especially during critical evening hours from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM when energy consumption typically peaks. The officials stress that maintaining energy efficiency is essential for managing current limitations, as the situation continues to evolve with the threat of further attacks.
In specific reports from the Kharkiv region, the city of Derhachi has been significantly impacted, leaving approximately 3,500 residents without power. Local leadership reported that the strike targeted critical energy infrastructure, disrupting power supply in several villages within the district.
The head of the Derhachi city military administration has stated that the extent of damage makes it impossible to provide a timeline for restoration at this moment. Details surrounding the broader context indicate that since Friday evening, Russian forces have intensified their strikes, employing a mix of drones and missiles on critical infrastructure sites throughout Ukraine.
Ukrainian air defenses repelled many of these attacks, including the destruction of several drones and missiles. However, the widespread impact of the assaults has resulted in civilian casualties and damage to residential buildings, raising concerns over safety and the resilience of the energy sector amidst ongoing conflict.
As winter continues to demand high energy usage for heating, the severity of these attacks underscores the vulnerabilities of Ukraine's energy infrastructure under continuous military pressure. The challenges faced by energy workers are compounded by the ongoing threat level, making restoration efforts vital yet increasingly complicated.
