Since the morning of March 15, Russian troops have intensified their offensive efforts, attacking Ukrainian defensive positions a total of 49 times, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The most intense conflicts were reported in the Huliaipole, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk areas.
The army of the Russian Federation conducted assaults on border settlements, including Bezsalivka, Kucheryvka, Ryzhivka, and others, highlighting the ongoing threat to civilian and military infrastructures alike. Notably, the southern front saw no new offensive actions reported, which marks a temporary lull in that specific operational area.
Engagements around Kupiansk saw two attempts by Russian forces to advance towards Novosynove and Hlushkivka, while Ukrainian forces successfully repelled three attacks on the Lyman direction. The frontline remains tense, particularly with 10 assault incidents recorded in the Kostiantynivka direction and another 10 in Pokrovsk, where fighting continues near Toretske, Bilytske, and Novoshakhivka.
The Russian armed forces have also escalated airstrikes over various locations, including Orikhiv and Vesele. These attacks are contributing to significant human and infrastructural costs, compounding the woes of the civilian population caught in conflict.
Reports indicate ongoing clashes in the Huliaipole region, where Russian forces attempted multiple ground assaults. Airstrikes have targeted towns including Charivne and Kopyani, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
Despite the high tempo of attacks, Ukrainian forces are maintaining their positions under intense pressure, showcasing resilience in the face of aggressions. While the overall number of attacks has risen, the General Staff noted that there are no substantial changes on several front segments.
Ukrainian military leadership, including Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, has been monitoring the situation closely, particularly in areas where Russian forces are believed to be amassing for further assaults. Continuous vigilance and tactical adaptations will be crucial for maintaining territorial defense and protecting civilians.
