On May 29, 2026, the Ukrainian government approved initial compensation payments to aid the reconstruction of industrial parks that suffered damage from Russian military strikes. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported these measures via a post on Telegram.

Key Details

The Ministry of Economic Development has approved a request for 91 million UAH for the Sparrow Park Lviv industrial park. This park was affected by a large-scale Russian attack on Lviv in 2025.

The funds will be used to restore the park's industrial infrastructure. Additionally, a request for 5.5 million UAH for the Smart Tech Industry industrial park in Poltava is also approved.

This funding will specifically address the construction of gas and water supply networks in that park. Svyrydenko emphasized that under the "Made in Ukraine" policy, the government covers up to 80% of infrastructure restoration costs, capped at 200 million UAH per park.

For new infrastructure projects, the co-financing rate is 50%, with a limit of 150 million UAH. The state budget allocates 1 billion UAH for the government stimulation of industrial parks in 2026.

The submission period for compensation applications began on March 31 this year and will continue until August 15. As of late last year, 37 factories were either built or under construction in these industrial parks.

Applications for state stimulation continue to be accepted throughout 2026. Interested parties can submit applications through partner banks including Oschadbank, Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, and Sens Bank.

Why It Matters

The approval of these compensation payments is a significant step towards revitalizing key industrial sectors in Ukraine that have been severely impacted by the ongoing conflict. This financial support is expected to facilitate the rebuilding of critical infrastructure, contributing to the overarching goal of economic recovery.

Background

This initiative is part of Ukraine's broader economic recovery strategy, particularly within the framework of the "Made in Ukraine" policy. The government's approach aims to stimulate economic activities in regions affected by war, enhancing industrial capabilities and creating resilience against future disruptions.

The recent approval of compensation payments indicates a dedicated governmental response to the challenges faced in the industrial sector due to the war, as the country seeks to rebuild and recover from extensive damage. Applications for funding and investment in industrial parks will enable faster recovery and growth, solidifying their role in Ukraine’s post-war economic landscape.
