In the northeastern Sumy region of Ukraine, Russian forces launched a series of strikes that injured two civilians over the course of a single day. This incident occurred between the morning of May 30 and the morning of May 31. The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported these developments via Telegram.

According to the source, approximately 70 strikes were recorded, targeting 36 settlements across 16 territorial communities. The attacks caused significant damage, impacting homes, vehicles, and various civilian structures.

In the Krasnopillia community, a 58-year-old man sustained injuries from a drone strike that hit his vehicle. Similarly, a 78-year-old man was wounded in the Shostka community amid heavy shelling in the nearby districts of Sumy and Shostka.

Russian forces utilized a range of weaponry during the attacks, including mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and guided aerial bombs. The strikes resulted in destruction and damage across several communities.

In Krasnopillia, a residential house was demolished, alongside damage to an administrative building and a private car. Velyka Pysarivka community saw a utility building harmed, while Bilopillia reported damage to a private car and a residential home.

In the Sumy community, similar incidents included damage to a civilian infrastructure facility and a destroyed vehicle. Shostka community also reported damage to a private residential house.

Severe destruction was reported in Esman and Shalyhyne, where private residential houses were completely destroyed.
