According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, total combat losses of Russian troops since the onset of the conflict have reached approximately 1,287,880 personnel. This latest report, which covers losses from March 21 to March 22, 2026, indicates that the Russian military's operational capacity is under significant stress due to ongoing engagements with Ukrainian forces.
The combat statistics also include substantial losses in armored vehicles, artillery, and other military equipment. Since February 24, 2022, the Russian army has lost 11,793 tanks and 24,263 armored fighting vehicles, along with 38,638 artillery systems.
The report details that specialized equipment losses stand at 4,098 units, while vehicles and tankers number 84,639. This data reflects ongoing military engagements in which Ukrainian forces contend with Russian invaders, with reports indicating 138 combat engagements on March 21 alone.
The statistics released highlight a sustained campaign against the Russian military, which is struggling to regain momentum in the war, as Ukrainian forces continue to defend their territory vigorously. The reported figures are based on regular updates from the General Staff, which monitors and assesses the evolving situation on the battlefield.
The intense losses further demonstrate the operational challenges faced by the Russian military amidst ongoing conflict with Ukraine. The war has now lasted over four years, leading to catastrophic losses on both sides, and raising concerns about the future stability of the region.
These statistics play a crucial role in understanding the dynamics of military power in the ongoing conflict and the effects of sustained engagement on Russian resources. Continued military pressure from Ukraine indicates a strategic approach to deplete enemy capabilities and fortify its own defensive positions as the war progresses.
