Russian Army Launches 41 Attacks on Ukraine Since Dawn

What Happened

From the early hours of today, the Russian armed forces have undertaken a series of attacks against positions held by Ukrainian defenders. As of 16:00 on April 16, the reports indicate a total of 41 attacks, with the heaviest activity occurring in the Pokrovsk direction.

In the Chernihiv region, the village of Bleshni was also attacked. Notably, Ukrainian drone forces had successful operations overnight, striking 16 Russian targets, including Iskander missile bases.

The Pokrovsk direction remains particularly critical, with 17 encounters reported where Russian forces are attempting to force Ukrainian defenders from their established positions in Rodynske, Udaine, Novolukashivka, Pokrovsk, and Kotlyn. The Ukrainian defense successfully repelled an attack in the Olexandrivka sector near Kalynivske.

Additionally, Russian airstrikes were noted in Pidhavrylivka, Velykomykhailivka, and Pokrovsk. In the Huliaipole direction, six Russian assaults were repelled in the areas of Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Staro ukrainka, Zarichne, and Tsvitkove, with another combat engagement ongoing.

Russian aviation continued its strikes in various regions, further aggravating the conflict dynamics.
