The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the most active combat occurred in the Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Huliaipole sectors, highlighting a severe escalation in hostilities. Russian forces launched 82 airstrikes and dropped 263 guided bombs during this period, marking a notable increase in aerial bombardment.
Noteworthy locations affected by these strikes included settlements in the Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. The Ukrainian Defense Forces retaliated by striking back at several concentrations of enemy troops and command posts, significantly impacting the effectiveness of Russian drone operations.
Clashes were reported in multiple sectors, with the enemy attempting assaults across various fronts. In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk areas, seven enemy assaults were repelled, alongside 108 shelling attacks.
The Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector also witnessed seven attempts by Russian troops to breach Ukrainian defenses. Particularly fierce confrontations took place in the Kostiantynivka sector, where Ukrainian defenders fought off 22 attacks.
Similar resistance was observed in the Pokrovsk sector, where 32 aggressor assaults were repelled near several key settlements. The Lyman sector saw an attempt from Russian forces to breach defenses near Drobysheve, though they were unsuccessful.
As the conflict intensifies, cities and towns across the frontlines continue to bear the brunt of artillery and airstrike barrages. In the context of this ongoing warfare, many civilian areas are facing severe consequences, including power outages and infrastructure damage following targeted shelling.
The situation underscores the brutal nature of the conflict, with daily life severely disrupted for those in affected regions, as civilian safety becomes an all-too-urgent priority. As of March 21, cumulative Russian combat losses in the war have reached approximately 1,286,940 personnel since the invasion began on February 24, 2022.
The recent 24-hour count reflects an increase of 1,240 personnel, indicating the high toll the conflict continues to extract on both sides.
