Naftogaz Chairman Informs Macron on Druzhba Pipeline Damage

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko met with French President Emmanuel Macron for discussions that included the consequences of the recent Russian attack on the Druzhba oil pipeline. This pivotal meeting included detailed remarks from Serhii Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, who communicated crucial information regarding the impact on Ukraine’s oil and gas infrastructure.

According to Koretskyi, the strike caused significant damage, and he described both the extent of the destruction and ongoing cleanup efforts. The reported destruction has halted the flow of Russian oil through the pipeline, crucial for energy transit in Europe.

Ukrainians are currently assessing the technical condition of the facility following the incident. Koretskyi's comments were later shared on Facebook, where he emphasized the urgency of the situation and the importance of international support.

The Russian strike on January 27 in the Lviv region further exacerbated the situation, leading to widespread concerns regarding energy supply disruptions in Europe, as reported by First Deputy Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who noted substantial damage to pipeline infrastructure.
