Ukrainian military spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn reported ongoing fierce battles as Russian troops attempt to storm the villages of Myrne, Bilohiria, and Luhivske. Despite aggressive assaults, Russian forces have not managed to gain control over these settlements.
Voloshyn emphasized that Ukrainian forces are conducting an active maneuver defense, effectively neutralizing enemy assault and infiltration groups. Accounts indicate that in the Huliaipole sector, which stretches from Nove Zaporizhzhia to the northern outskirts of Huliaipole, Russian military movements have not resulted in any territorial advances.
In response, Russian forces have redirected their efforts toward the south and west of the city, intensifying their attacks towards Zaliznychne. Reports suggest about 15 combat engagements occur daily in this area.
In Myrne, Russian troops ramped up their assault operations approximately two to two-and-a-half weeks ago. Ukrainian defenses remain strong, with reports showing five to seven combat clashes occurring daily in the settlement.
Voloshyn firmly stated, "Claims that they have occupied these two settlements are false, because the fighting is taking place near them. The enemy has not yet entered them and is only trying to do so." The situation in Bilohiria has been slightly less intense, with around one to two combat confrontations reported daily.
Voloshyn clarified that true occupation of a settlement would require the deployment of consolidation units, a requirement that Russian troops have failed to meet. Although there has been information about infiltration groups entering Bilohiria and Luhivske, Ukrainian forces actively engaged and have thwarted their efforts.
The situation around Luhivske is reportedly more challenging, with continued attempts by Russian forces to carry out assaults and frequent airstrikes using guided bombs. Voloshyn noted the dynamic situation, mentioning that Ukrainian tactics involve a combination of active maneuver defense to lure enemies into traps for better tactical removal.
He condemned Russian media claims of territorial capture as misinformation intended to manipulate public perception. As reported on March 15, 167 combat engagements were documented along front lines, reflecting the ongoing intensity of the conflict, particularly on the Pokrovsk axis where 36 assault attempts were recorded.
