The exhibition, organized by the National Antarctic Scientific Center (NANC) and local partners, marks a significant celebration of 30 years of Ukraine's presence in Antarctica through its research station, Akademik Vernadsky. Displayed for the first time in Ivano-Frankivsk, the exhibit will showcase 30 photographs that capture the life, research efforts of Ukrainian scientists, and the stunning natural landscapes of the remote continent, including themes of climate change.

NANC emphasized the exhibition's importance as it not only highlights past achievements but also engages the public in understanding ongoing scientific efforts in extreme environments. At the opening, NANC Director Yevhen Dykhiy will lead a guided tour of the exhibition.
Additionally, the event will include a virtual connection with the current polar researchers stationed at Vernadsky, who are in the midst of a team rotation, transitioning responsibilities from the 30th to the 31st Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition. The exhibition will run until March 26, and visitors can access it free of charge, with operational hours set from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
This initiative is further supported by local organizations, including the innovative center Promprylad, the tourism gear company Gorgany, and the producer of freeze-dried food ЇDLO. This exhibition serves not only as a tribute to three decades of Ukrainian involvement in Antarctic research but also as an educational platform for the public about climate issues relevant to both Ukraine and the broader global community.
Marking the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's transfer of the Antarctic station from the UK, NANC will also publish a series of unique archival videos documenting the first Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition. These multimedia presentations aim to enrich the ongoing dialogue about environmental research and Ukraine’s scientific contributions in the polar region.
