According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the fighting in the Pokrovsk region escalated significantly, with Ukrainian forces engaging in 168 confrontations with Russian military units over the course of just one day. This surge in activity reflects a broader operational intensity across the front lines.
The report, issued early on March 24, highlighted that the Russian forces launched a missile strike using four rockets and carried out 75 aerial strikes, dropping a total of 255 guided bombs. Additionally, they deployed 9,027 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,727 fire assaults, including 86 using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Significant Russian airstrikes targeted several regions, specifically in Sumy and Dnipro, affecting areas including Bachivsk, and various locations within Zaporizhzhia such as Upper Tersa and Huliaipole. Despite these aggressive actions, the Ukrainian defense countered effectively, damaging six concentration zones of Russian personnel and disrupting command and control centres operating UAVs.
In the Northern and Southern Slobozhansky directions, a total of 13 skirmishes were noted, along with 85 fire assaults. Tensions surged further in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, with Russian forces attempting multiple advances near key settlements.
The Ukrainian military successfully repelled seven attempts by Russian troops to gain ground in areas such as Yampol and Rai-Oleksandrivka. Activitiy intensified near Kostiantynivka, where Russian forces launched 17 attacks, underscoring the persistent threat to local defenses.
However, no significant offensive actions were reported in the Orikhiv direction, indicating a potential shift in Russian strategy. Throughout the latest combat operations, Ukrainian defenders demonstrated resilience, blocking numerous assault attempts and inflicting losses on the adversary.
The detailed report emphasizes the ongoing strain faced by frontline positions and the need for continued support and resources for the Ukrainian military. As engagements continue across various front lines, military analysts note the importance of maintaining operational readiness and strategic coordination to counter the persistent Russian advancements.
