The Ukrainian Pavilion officially commenced operations in Lisbon during the city's Benfica Com Vida festival, providing a space for attendees to contribute to fundraising efforts aimed at aiding the children of Ukrainian defenders. According to Nataliya Varga, head of the Ukrainian Women's Society in Portugal, the pavilion is set up in Praça do Fonte Nova and will be open from March 13 to 15, daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The event features a range of offerings, including traditional Ukrainian dishes and baked goods, as well as a sale of traditional Easter eggs and items adorned with Ukrainian symbolism. The setup not only serves as a fundraising effort but also acts as a cultural showcase, providing an opportunity for local Portuguese and visitors to engage with Ukrainian customs and traditions.
The main objective of the Ukrainian Pavilion is to support humanitarian initiatives, with every purchase or donation helping the "Children of Heroes" project, which focuses on providing vacations and rehabilitation for children whose parents have died defending Ukraine. Varga emphasized the importance of community support in achieving these goals.
Volunteers played a critical role in setting up the pavilion, with special thanks extended to Bohdan Volodymyrovych and Oleksandr Varza for their technical assistance. The pavilion kindles a broader connection to Ukraine, building on previous cultural initiatives such as the Ukrainian Christmas festival held recently in Lisbon, which brought together members of the Ukrainian community and clergy to promote national traditions and unity among Ukrainians abroad.
By highlighting this initiative, the Ukrainian community in Portugal continues to foster connections between cultures while helping those affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
