The General Staff of Ukraine has confirmed that its military personnel will continue to receive training on foreign weapon systems and military techniques abroad throughout the year. Major Dmytro Lykhovyi, an officer from the Public Relations Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that plans for basic military training have been organized in three European Union countries, supported by four NATO member states.

The focus of this training includes professional preparation of commanders, senior sergeants, and instructors, alongside general military education. Over the past two years, the number of Ukrainian personnel undergoing training abroad has significantly decreased, largely due to increased capabilities in military training provided within Ukraine.

This shift allows for a more secure training environment and improved safety measures at training ranges. The General Staff emphasized that conducting training in Ukraine offers various advantages, including the ability to utilize advanced technologies, such as drones and electronic warfare systems, without logistical complications associated with overseas training.

Ukrainian instructors can now facilitate intensive training that comprehensively addresses the demands of modern warfare. Despite the advantages of local training, such as access to quality material resources and uninterrupted learning environments, officials acknowledged significant benefits from training conducted in NATO countries.

These advantages include specialized facilities and highly skilled instructors, contributing to a thorough preparation process that meets modern military standards. Lykhovyi underscored that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are capable of replenishing their ranks effectively, aligning training efforts with the evolving needs of high-tech warfare.

The recent categorization and optimization of training abroad have resulted in the identification of key partner nations specializing in various training aspects, enabling more efficient resource utilization. This streamlining of training resources has led some partner nations to redirect their capabilities for training Ukrainian soldiers in third countries, enhancing training effectiveness and resource allocation.

The General Staff continues to explore strategies for shifting more training initiatives back to Ukrainian soil, with a focus on maximizing local capacities for military readiness.
