In the aftermath of a mass missile attack by Russian forces on the night of March 14, 2026, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga emphasized the necessity of escalating international pressure on Russia. This plea came in light of the assault, which involved dozens of ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones targeting civilian areas and infrastructure across various regions of Ukraine.

According to Sibiga, the attack left at least four individuals dead and numerous others injured in the Kyiv region, and similar impacts were reported in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions. He characterized the night as "horrific and sleepless" for many Ukrainians.

The heightened aggression by Russia reflects what he called a deep-seated sense of impunity within the Kremlin. Sibiga underscored that Russia continues its unrelenting military campaign against Ukraine while contributing to the expansion of terror activities in regions like the Middle East.

He asserted that the Kremlin should not receive any alleviation of international pressure or isolation in response to its actions. In his statements, he quoted historical failures of appeasement policies, arguing that such strategies have never led to peace but instead fostered further acts of terror and war.

Pointing to the significance of rapid action, the Foreign Minister claimed that reducing Russia's military resources was critical for concluding the war sooner. He highlighted that diminishing Russia’s capabilities would ultimately prevent it from supporting other regimes described as terrorist, mentioning Tehran specifically.

The urgency of this appeal aligns with ongoing concerns about Russia's military capabilities, as Ukrainian air defense reportedly neutralized 460 hostile targets, including 58 missiles and 402 drones, during the preceding nights. This response underscores Ukraine's resilience amidst sustained aggressive acts from Russia, illustrating the broader struggle for security within Eastern Europe.
