These components reportedly reach Russia through well-known circumvention schemes. The Ukrainian delegation stressed that these supply chains must be decisively disrupted to minimize Russia's military capabilities.

In their statement, Ukrainian officials pointed out that Iranian drones, currently deployed by Russia against Ukraine, are also being utilized in other regions, notably the Middle East. This trend presents a threat not only to Ukraine but also to regional and international security at large.

They warned that if the global community fails to ensure adequate air defense systems for Europe and the Middle East against ballistic missiles, it is imperative to prevent Russia from assembling missiles in their factories. The delegation reiterated the importance of maintaining and enhancing international sanctions on Russia, calling for the approval of the 20th sanction package by the EU.

Ukrainian representatives noted that existing sanctions from the United States and the European Union have had significant effects, including a reported budget deficit exceeding $100 billion for Russia in 2026. Any relaxation of sanctions, particularly those concerning Russian oil, risks providing Russia with up to $10 billion President Volodymyr Zelensky has previously indicated that Russia conducts at least five to six large-scale attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure monthly, increasingly employing ballistic missiles.

The situation underlines the urgent need for the international community to reinforce its commitment to effective sanctions against Russia, ensuring that the means for its missile production are curtailed. The involvement of foreign components in Russian munitions raises the stakes for worldwide security, emphasizing the interconnectedness of regional threats.
