During a joint media briefing with French President Emmanuel Macron, Zelensky shared details of the requests emanating from the Middle East, emphasizing a greater international interest in providing support to Ukraine. He stated that Ukraine will determine the specific assistance needed after the Ukrainian delegation returns from the Gulf region.

Zelensky mentioned that this weekend, military personnel and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) will return to Ukraine, following which a complete briefing on the situation will be provided. He indicated that discussions focused on military aid, particularly related to the complex dynamics of the ongoing conflict involving Iranian drones.
The President pointed out that Ukraine has already sent experts to three countries in the region as part of the collaborative initiative to tackle aerial threats, primarily the Iranian-made Shahed drones. A separate request from the United States regarding assistance for Jordan was also highlighted by Zelensky.
While discussing the defensive capabilities of Ukraine, Zelensky clarified that despite several Middle Eastern countries and European states possessing interceptor drones, these systems require the expertise of Ukrainian military personnel, pilots, and specialized software to operate effectively. "This system exists officially within the Armed Forces of Ukraine; therefore, many understand that even dozens or hundreds of interceptors do not really balance the situation," he stated clearly.
The ongoing security challenges faced by Ukraine, particularly regarding drone assaults, have led to collaborative efforts beyond Europe, with an increasing number of international allies expressing readiness to assist. Zelensky’s remarks reflect a shift toward building a more robust defense framework against these developments.
Significant context also touches on the growing number of requests for support that Ukraine has received against the backdrop of threats posed by Iranian drones, with Zelensky earlier noting 11 requests for assistance from neighboring countries in a National Security and Defense Council session on March 9.
