Svyrydenko met with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to discuss the importance of a permanent monitoring presence at the Zaporizhzhia site. Ukraine is currently renovating the new safe confinement structure at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was damaged last year.

The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to international partners for their support in procuring gas supplies during the challenging winter months, highlighting the role of defense forces and energy workers in helping Ukraine navigate this period. She reiterated the critical nature of strengthening energy security across Europe, framing Ukraine's efforts to safeguard its nuclear sites as part of a broader responsibility for the continent's energy safety.

Svyrydenko also mentioned ongoing discussions with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding decentralized energy generation in Ukraine, recognizing the need for innovative approaches to energy management in response to the ongoing crisis. Further, meetings with other energy sector leaders focused on diversifying energy supplies amid rising costs linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Svyrydenko called for enhanced cooperation and expressed hope for expanded partnerships through agreements like the one signed with the IAEA last year. She framed Ukraine's experiences as vital learning opportunities for European energy resilience at a time when collective efforts are crucial for sustainability and security in energy management.

The Prime Minister ended her remarks by appreciating the support from international partners and reaffirming Ukraine's readiness to collaborate on enhancing regional energy independence and safety.
