During a meeting of the Coordination Center for the Implementation of Resilience Plans held in Chernihiv, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced that the funds will specifically target the preparation of vital infrastructure including heating systems and energy supplies. The initiative aims to bolster the resilience of these regions, which have been significantly impacted by ongoing military conflicts.

The government's decision follows a comprehensive review of the resilience plans submitted by local authorities. Svyrydenko emphasized the urgency of the project, stating that work on these critical facilities would commence shortly.

The selected facilities are deemed essential for ensuring public safety and heating reliability as the nation heads into winter months. The allocation of UAH 11.2 billion will enable the construction of new protective structures and updates to existing facilities, setting a robust framework for energy security during the winter season.

Furthermore, to support local economies, the government is implementing measures to ease regulations and provide affordable loans aimed at fostering energy independence. Notably, a fixed interest rate of 7% per year will be available for eligible businesses seeking financial support through the '5-7-9%' program, with extended loan terms specifically for frontline regions until the end of 2027.

The recent announcement follows an earlier decision on March 6, when the government approved UAH 10 billion for resilience-focused initiatives. The total estimated cost for carrying out these comprehensive resilience plans exceeds UAH 215 billion.

As part of these efforts, bolstered cooperation with international entities is being pursued to secure additional financial resources, ensuring the continuity and safety of critical infrastructure in the face of ongoing challenges.
