Two Emergency Medical Workers Killed in Kharkiv Region Shelling

In a tragic incident in the Kharkiv region, two emergency medical personnel lost their lives during a shelling attack attributed to Russian forces. The attack occurred near the village of Chervona Khvylia, where a 27-year-old and a 56-year-old male worker were killed.

A 54-year-old male worker was also wounded in this incident, highlighting the ongoing risks faced by medical responders in the region. This attack on emergency services underscores the dangerous environment medical teams operate in as they respond to urgent calls for assistance amidst escalating hostilities.

According to Synehubov, the previous day saw significant shelling across the region, affecting 21 populated areas. The assaults have continued to inflict casualties and damage to local infrastructure.

In Kupiansk, for example, a 63-year-old woman was injured, demonstrating the indiscriminate nature of the attacks. Reports indicate that Russian military forces utilized a diverse array of weaponry during these assaults, including one KAB, ten Geran-2 drones, and various other drone types.

The bombardments have resulted in damage to civil infrastructure, including homes and local businesses. In the Bohodukhiv district alone, several private residences, agricultural buildings, and a garage were damaged, revealing the widespread impact of the conflict on civilian life.

Additionally, a civilian enterprise was reported damaged in the Kupiansk district, along with multiple homes and vehicles across several villages. The ongoing suffering of the civilian population is exacerbated by these incidents, as emergency services find themselves targeted while attempting to save lives.

Amidst this turmoil, a transit evacuation point in Lozova has assisted 89 people in the last day, highlighting ongoing efforts to provide safety for those affected by the conflict. Since its establishment, the evacuation center has registered 22,723 individuals, indicating the significant need for humanitarian assistance in the region.
