As of March 15, 2026, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has resulted in significant losses for Russian military forces. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia's total combat losses since the start of the war on February 24, 2022, have now topped 1.27 million personnel.

This staggering figure, which reflects those killed and wounded, includes a daily increase of 740 troops in the latest update. Recent updates indicate that Ukrainian forces have destroyed a total of 11,781 enemy tanks, marking an increase of four tanks since the previous report.

Armored combat vehicles have also seen significant losses, totaling 24,213, while the destruction of artillery systems has reached 38,438. Key assets such as multiple launch rocket systems and air defense systems remain under constant pressure, with total losses of 1,686 and 1,332, respectively.

The airspace over Ukraine continues to be contested, with the Ukrainian defenders claiming to have downed 435 Russian aircraft and 349 helicopters. Notably, the operational capacity of Russian forces has been further diminished by the loss of 179,270 operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and 4,468 cruise missiles, illustrating the ongoing intensity of military engagements across the region.

The nature of the ground conflict has seen 117 combat engagements reported along the front line on March 14 alone. This uptick in fighting contributes to the swift turnover of casualties and equipment loss, indicating that both sides are sustaining significant operational strains.

The information surrounding these statistics is continuously being updated, reflecting the dynamic and evolving conditions of the battlefield. Ukrainian intelligence has also been active, releasing footage of a Shahed drone being shot down over the Dnipro River near Kyiv, further emphasizing the ongoing nature of the conflict and the technological warfare involved.

As the war proceeds, the latest casualty figures serve as a grim reminder of the human cost of the protracted hostilities in the region.
