Russian troops are not altering their aerial tactics, launching hundreds of strike drones toward Ukraine nightly, according to Yurii Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command. During a recent attack, Ukrainian air defense managed to intercept 161 out of 199 incoming drones.

Reports indicate that the attacks are increasingly focused on regions closer to the front lines, complicating interception efforts. Ihnat noted that although combat outcomes varied, the recent operations involved more than two hundred drones per night.
The persistent nature of these assaults has led to few nights without drone strikes in the past year. Areas like the Poltava region experienced heavy drone deployments, with some attacks also recorded in the Odesa region, where ballistic missiles were reported.
The consistency of these nighttime raids poses challenges to Ukrainian defenses, particularly when strikes are concentrated in tactical frontline locations. According to Ihnat, while interceptor drones and mobile fire units have demonstrated effectiveness, the operational success of air defenses is contingent on various factors, including weather conditions.
These elements can adversely affect interception rates, particularly when attacks are directed at frontline areas, making the defensive response more difficult. The Ukrainian armed forces have emphasized the need for sustained vigilance as Russia persists with its aerial assaults.
Ihnat's statements reflect an ongoing effort to adapt and enhance defensive measures against the evolving threat. The comprehensive response to these challenges is crucial for maintaining airspace security and protecting civilians in affected regions.
