In a recent update, Serhiy Kuyun, the Director of A-95, reassured that Ukraine is not facing any diesel fuel shortages as previously suggested by some media reports. Kuyun clarified that the supply levels throughout March are consistent with those from 2025, refuting claims that the country would run low on diesel by the end of the month.

He emphasized that misunderstandings arose from professional market assessments which were misinterpreted. Kuyun explained that diesel fuel contracting for April is ongoing and that approximately 40% of the needed volume has already been reserved.

However, he noted that uncertainty remains regarding fuel pricing, which has caused confusion. While suppliers have confirmed the remaining volume for delivery, the exact pricing remains to be determined.

This could be attributed to fluctuations in the international oil market and domestic factors affecting pricing strategies. He further highlighted that reports of diesel shortages have no basis in reality, particularly given the absence of long queues for diesel fuel at service stations, a situation that would typically indicate a supply issue.

On March 23, the average price for A-95 gasoline rose by 39 kopecks to 71.85 UAH per liter, while diesel prices increased by 2.97 UAH, reaching 84.22 UAH per liter. Kuyun's statements aim to provide clarity during a time when fuel supply concerns might jeopardize public confidence.

As supplies remain stable, it appears that the situation allows for strategic planning by both suppliers and consumers to ensure adequate fuel availability in the coming weeks. Additionally, industry observers will be monitoring fuel price adjustments closely as further contracts solidify.

The management of diesel supplies, alongside ongoing international energy dynamics, will play a critical role in supporting Ukraine's economic stability amidst ongoing challenges in the energy sector.
