Mild Weather Ahead for Ukraine with Possible Rain and Snow

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a weather forecast indicating that on March 20, most regions of Ukraine will remain dry, except for the Carpathians, eastern areas, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk regions where light rain with wet snow may occur overnight. The approaching cyclone over the Black Sea is contributing to a drop in atmospheric pressure, although widespread precipitation is not anticipated across the majority of the country.

Predominantly, the northeastern winds will move at speeds of 5 to 10 m/s, creating cool conditions especially at higher altitudes. In terms of temperature, meteorologists predict lows ranging from 3°C to -2°C overnight.

During the day, temperatures are expected to rise to between 6°C and 11°C in most areas, with slightly warmer conditions in Zakarpattia reaching up to 14°C. The southern and southeastern regions of Ukraine are predicted to have overnight temperatures between 1°C and 6°C, while daytime highs will range from 9°C to 14°C.

In Kyiv and the surrounding Kyiv region, the weather will be predominantly cloudy with some clear spells and no precipitation forecasted. The temperature is likely to be around 0°C overnight, climbing to between 9°C and 11°C during the day.

The variances in temperature highlight the transitional nature of spring in Ukraine, with nighttime frost still a possibility in some areas. Overall, the weather system indicates a mix of cool air masses affecting Ukraine, and while precipitation is limited, certain regions may still experience varied weather conditions.
