The Ukrainian General Staff reported that since the start of the day, Russian troops have intensified their assaults across various sectors, with the most ferocious fighting recorded in Huliaipole, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk. As of 16:00 on March 15, military operations included multiple attempts by Russian forces to reclaim territory and disrupt Ukrainian defenses.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops executed 14 assaults, targeting areas near Huliaipole as well as Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, Sviatopetrivka, and Olenokostiantynivka. Reports indicate that airstrikes also occurred in nearby localities, adding to the intensity of the engagements in this area.
Huliaipole has become a strategic focal point, underscoring its significance in the ongoing conflict. Kostiantynivka saw extensive military action as Russian forces conducted 10 separate assaults aimed at advancing through Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Novopavlivka.
A concerted effort to push Ukrainian positions was noted near Pleshchiivka, indicating a high-stakes environment for defensive operations. The Pokrovsk sector also featured ten attempts by Russian troops to dislodge Ukrainian forces from their established positions.
The attacks were concentrated around Toretske, Bilytske, Nove Shakhove, and several surrounding areas. This suggests a coordinated strategy aimed at undermining Ukrainian defenses and gaining regional control.
The Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors experienced over 60 shelling attacks, though no significant ground offensives were recorded here. Ukrainian defenders have successfully repelled multiple advances in the Lyman sector and managed to maintain their positions against persistent aggression.
Overall, reports suggest that while offensive actions continue, Ukrainian forces are holding firm, with ongoing battles indicating a critical phase in this protracted conflict. Earlier today, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, visited key areas along the Zaporizhzhia axis, acknowledging the concentration of Russian troops and equipment for future offensive maneuvers.
While the situation remains fluid, this engagement underlines the continued volatility of the frontline.
