Intense Fighting Reported in Pokrovsk and Huliaipole Sectors

What Happened

Russian forces launched a series of attacks against Ukrainian Defense Forces, totaling 51 incidents since dawn on May 9. The fighting has been particularly fierce in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors.

Key Details

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that border areas also sustained artillery fire from the enemy. The locations impacted included Rohizne, Volfyne, Korenok, Atynske, Ulanove, and Kucherivka in the Sumy region.

Overall, across various sectors, forces attempted to gain ground against Ukrainian positions. In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces executed 10 strikes against settlements and defense positions.

Initial attempts of assault were noted, but active offensives did not manifest in the Kupiansk sector. Conversely, the Lyman sector experienced attacks with four engagements focusing on locations like Lyman, Zarichne, Yampil, and Ozerne.

No significant enemy assault actions were noted in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovske sectors. The overall situation remains characterized by intense firefights, although few changes on the ground have been reported.
