Ukrainian military reports indicate that Russian forces have initiated a series of aggressive assaults across various sectors as of 16:00 on Sunday, March 8. The General Staff of the Armed Forces highlighted that the most intense clashes are centered around Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole.

In total, there were 53 reported attacks, underscoring the escalation of hostilities in these regions. In the Sumy region, Russian troops bombarded border settlements including Bezsalivka and Kucherivka, among others.
Furthermore, the conflict in Northern Slobozhanshchyna intensified as Russian forces executed an airstrike and shelled Ukrainian positions over 73 times, including the use of multiple rocket launchers. In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, hostilities persisted near Zybyne, while the Sloviansk sector reported three attacks near Zakytne and Platonivka.
A continuing clash was noted there as Russian forces sought to press their advantage. The Kramatorsk sector also witnessed attacks near Nykyforivka, marking another front of contention.
Notably, the Kostiantynivka sector saw 14 offensive actions with aggressive maneuvers aimed at Pleshchiivka and surrounding areas, which indicates a concentrated effort by Russian forces to advance. The Pokrovsk sector reported 13 assault attempts aimed at dislodging Ukrainian forces from positions near Myrnohrad and adjacent locales.
Ongoing assessments indicate that one of these attacks is still active. In Huliaipole, confrontations continued with 13 attacks reported near Myrne and other pivotal locations.
Ukrainian forces managed to repel 12 of these direct attacks. Additionally, Russian airstrikes targeted regional sites including Vozdvyzhivka and Kopani, indicating a comprehensive assault strategy.
One significant event from the Orikhiv sector included a clash near Stepnohirsk, with airstrikes also reported on Komyshuvakha, demonstrating the widespread nature of the conflict. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated recently that Ukraine regained substantial control over territory in the south, thwarting Russian attempts at a spring offensive.
These developments point to sustained conflict in the region, as both sides prepare for continued engagements.
