During her first visit to Kyiv, Julia Klöckner expressed serious concern over Russian provocations aimed at European nations. In her remarks, she highlighted that Germany and other European countries are aware of the risks posed by the Kremlin, especially in light of rising tensions involving hybrid warfare and cyberattacks, which have increasingly targeted government institutions, including the Bundestag itself.

Klöckner emphasized that the situation is dynamic and requires a realistic assessment of potential threats from President Vladimir Putin, particularly in the context of conflicts in the Middle East. Klöckner affirmed the importance of constraining Russia's ability to finance its military actions against Ukraine.
She reassured that Germany remains committed to supporting Ukraine, despite the global spotlight shifting towards other regions. The president also urged the continuation of reforms in Ukraine, specifically in combating corruption, asserting that a robust parliamentary role is essential even during wartime.
Ukrainian expertise in counter-drone strategies and hybrid threats was also acknowledged by Klöckner. She indicated that Ukraine has developed significant knowledge in these areas, which is being utilized by NATO partners.
This collaboration highlights the importance of Ukraine’s experience in dealing with modern warfare tactics, as European nations seek to bolster their defenses against similar threats. Klöckner's visit underscores the strengthening ties between Germany and Ukraine amidst ongoing challenges.
Her statements reflect a broader European consensus on the necessity of vigilance and proactive measures to address the complexities of the security landscape shaped by Russian actions. With the situation evolving, international cooperation and support for Ukraine are more critical than ever.
