What Happened

On May 29, 2026, Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded 291 combat engagements with invading Russian forces. As per a report from the General Staff, the information was disclosed on their Facebook page early on May 30.

During the previous day, Russian military conducted a single missile strike using seven missiles, alongside performing 91 airstrikes and dropping 277 guided aviation bombs. The report stated that the Russians deployed kamikaze drones in 8,549 instances and carried out 2,807 shelling incidents, including 53 from multiple rocket launch systems.

Key Details

Ukrainian defense forces actively responded, neutralizing a command post, three artillery systems, a drone command post, and targeting nine areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, as well as two other significant Russian military objects. In the Northeastern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Russian forces launched three airstrikes involving six guided aerial bombs and executed 64 shelling operations, six of which were from multiple rocket launch systems.

Furthermore, in the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Russians intensified their attacks on the areas of Starytsia, Lyman, and Vovchansk, targeting locations near Ternovaya and Izbytskiy. Near Kupiansk, Ukrainian forces thwarted eight attempts by the enemy to advance towards Kivsharivka, Novoplatonivka, and Novoosynove.

Heavy resistance also occurred in the Lyman direction where Russian troops attempted to pierce the defense 12 times in the Lyman, Drobysheve, Shiykivka, Ozerne, and Hlushenkove areas. Attacks escalated in the Sloviansk area, with three assaults in the regions of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryvaya Luka.

The Kramatorsk direction saw three offensive actions by Russian troops around Nykiforivka, Pryvillia, and in the direction of Tykhonivka. Russian attacks were reported on 12 occasions near Kostiantynivka and Ivanopillia, and also in the vicinity of Ruzynyi Yar and toward Rozkishne.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces successfully stopped 49 assaults by Russian troops in the areas of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotelne, Udachne, and other surrounding locations. In the Oleksandriivka region, Russians launched six attacks in the neighborhoods of Zeleni Hay, Zlahodi, Ternove, and towards Verbove.

The Huliaipil direction witnessed 40 acts of aggression, impacting the regions of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Olenokostyantynivka, and adjacent locations. Defensive forces also halted 10 advances in the Orikhiv direction at the areas of Shcherbaky, Plavni, and Stepnohirska.

Active offensive operations were not reported in the Dnipro direction by the enemy, while no signs of forming offensive units by Russian forces were noted in the Volyn and Polissya areas.
