According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the latest military encounters occurred across multiple fronts, primarily highlighting the ongoing pressures faced by Ukrainian defenders in Pokrovsk, Kostyantynivka, and Huliaipole. The report, released on March 22, 2026, details a significant uptick in Russian military activity, including 79 aerial strikes dropping 265 guided bombs.

Additionally, Ukrainian positions were subjected to 3,587 artillery attacks, with 73 involving rocket systems. Specific areas targeted by Russian aircraft included settlements in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

In these areas, the enemy's offensive strategy involved deploying drone strikes, with a total of 8,379 kamikaze drones reportedly used. The Ukrainian military responded effectively, striking six concentration zones of enemy troops and equipment, along with one enemy drone control point.

In the Northeastern regions, Russian forces carried out 124 bombardments against Ukrainian positions, including 14 using multiple rocket launchers. There were also six recorded engagements during this period.

The South-Eastern front saw Russian troops attempt to breach Ukrainian defenses eight times in specific districts, demonstrating persistent efforts to penetrate established lines. The report underscores various clashes across several strategic directions, particularly highlighting failed assaults near settlements such as Petrivka, Kurylivka, and the Liman area.

In Pokrovsk, Ukrainian defenders successfully thwarted 28 attempted assaults, highlighting their commitment to maintaining territorial integrity amidst overwhelming adversarial pressure. Furthermore, Russian attacks were recorded in the Kostyantynivka region, where 17 assaults were documented targeting specific locations, including Krebalyk, Stepanyvka, and Novopavlivka.

While fierce fighting continues in various localities, incidents were also reported in areas such as Orikhiv, where Ukrainian troops repelled an attempt to advance towards the city. On the northern and Polissia fronts, no current indicators suggest the formation of new attack groups by Russian forces, providing some respite to Ukrainian defenders in these regions.

As of March 22, cumulative Russian military losses since February 24, 2022, are estimated near 1.29 million personnel, with 940 casualties reported in the last day alone.
