According to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 23, the clashes were part of a larger series of confrontations that underscored the ongoing conflict in various regions. The intensity of the fighting was most pronounced in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defense forces engaged in direct confrontations with Russian invaders.

Over the course of the day, Russian forces launched a total of 67 aerial strikes, deploying 285 guided aviation bombs. Additionally, they utilized an array of unmanned aerial vehicles, notably 9,266 kamikaze drones, and conducted 3,811 bombardments, including 57 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

The specific areas targeted by Russian aviation included Ivanivka, Velikomykhailivka, and surrounding zones in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as locations in Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions. In response, Ukrainian forces successfully struck 11 concentrations of Russian personnel and equipment, along with one command post for the UAVs.

Details of combat activity further revealed that the Russian military attempted numerous assaults along various fronts. In the Northeastern Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, a total of 103 shellings were reported, including five from artillery systems.

The Southern and Kupiansk directions also saw multiple failed attempts by Russian troops to breach Ukrainian defenses. Notable engagements occurred around significant towns such as Kupiansk and Borivska Andriivka.

In contrast, the Volyn and Polissya areas showed no indications of Russian offensive group formation, suggesting a concentrated effort in other strategic locations. At the conclusion of the reported day, the overall combat losses for Russian forces since the onset of the full-scale invasion have been approximated at 1,288,850 personnel.

This staggering figure reflects the heavy toll taken by ongoing military engagements on both sides.
