According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the fighting on March 7 included sustained engagements across multiple sectors of the front line. The report indicates that Russian forces conducted three missile strikes, deploying 33 missiles, alongside 86 air strikes that involved dropping 254 guided aerial bombs.

Notably, the aggressors employed a staggering 9,837 kamikaze drones and executed 3,514 shellings, which comprised 49 from multiple launch rocket systems. The intensity of the conflict was palpable in several regions.

Russian air strikes targeted areas including Pysantsi, Kolomyitsi, and Pokrovske, disrupting local defenses. In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Russian forces executed 139 shellings, four of which used MLRS.

Additionally, three air strikes were conducted with eight guided aerial bombs. On the ground, attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses were evident, particularly in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, where five assaults aimed to penetrate defensive lines across various locations, including Hrafske and Vovchansk.

The Kupiansk sector witnessed four attacks in the areas of Pishchane and Kurylivka, while the Lyman sector experienced six attacks involving the Russian military. Ukrainian forces remained resilient amid these challenges.

The Sloviansk sector saw Ukrainian defenders repel 12 attempts at advancing invader positions. Similarly, in the Kramatorsk sector, Russian offensive moves toward Minkivka were met with a counter-response from Ukraine.

The Kostiantynivka sector reported 15 attacks near strategic points, while the Pokrovsk sector saw 20 aggressor assaults thwarted by determined Ukrainian defense efforts. Despite the heightened attacks, no enemy operations were reported in the Orikhiv sector, and the situation remained stable in Prydniprovske, Volyn, and Polissia regions.

Ukrinform has been tracking the toll of the ongoing conflict, with reported total Russian combat losses since February 24, 2022, reaching approximately 1,273,290 soldiers by March 8, 2026. This figure underscores the severe impact of the ongoing war on both Ukrainian and Russian forces, revealing the extent of human cost involved in this prolonged conflict.
